Cincinnati Post By Rick Bird Thursday, January 23, 2003 Fields of Folk:
Tri-state guitarist Harold Kennedy is out with an impressive new CD that is a thoroughly entertaining romp through traditional folk, bluegrass and mountain music classics. "Golden Fields of American Folk Music" may be mostly covers of standards, but multi-instrumentalist Kennedy shines with his down-home, twangy singing and outstanding work on guitar, dobro, banjo, and mandolin. There are classics like "Cannonball Blues" "Sittin' On Top of the World" and "Shenandoah" -- all with Kennedy's bright, fresh arrangements. Guest musicians include Buddy Griffin (fiddle) and Bob Nyswonger (bass) with Ma Crow contributing vocals on "Little Rosewood Casket."
